As an art director, I have helped guide the creative vision of the brands and publications I’ve worked for. Entering the world of media as a writer first really taught me to the most important part of art direction: storytelling. In my role as Art Director of Tribeza magazine, I worked closely with the Editor-in-chief to curate the visuals for each issue. We would brainstorm at the onset of each issue and come up with the visual direction for each article together. This oftentimes required us to conceptualize editorial photoshoots and hire artists for custom illustrations. Together we would oversee each step of the process from ideation to final execution.
